Boat GA colourisation

Client work. A motor yacht's general arrangement turned into coloured presentation plans for the profile, main deck and lower deck.

The brief

The client needed their existing AutoCAD general arrangement transformed into three presentation views: side profile, main deck and lower deck. They asked for subtle depth and shading, a grey hull and light wood finishes, with technical linework removed and the final images supplied as high-resolution transparent PNGs.

What I did

  • Coloured the profile, main deck and lower deck in one consistent material palette: teak decks, light upholstery, dark glazing and a grey hull.
  • Kept the drawings to scale and true to the GA, so the plans still work as layout drawings.
  • Added soft shading so cabins, berths and seating read as volumes rather than outlines.

Main deck: aft swim platform, cockpit seating, galley, helm and foredeck sunpad

Lower deck: guest cabin with twin berths, heads, galley and the forward owner's cabin
