Delivered and approved

For a returning RC client, I delivered a 36-inch US Coast Guard Defender model package, including both the complete model and a hull-only STEP file.

The brief

The contract’s short title does not explain the actual delivered object. The submission record identifies the work as a US Coast Guard Defender model. The available Upwork conversation contains the handoff and approvals, with little intermediate design discussion.

How it went

Provide a complete package

I supplied a ZIP containing the whole 36-inch model.

Separate the useful handoff views

I also delivered a hull-only STEP file and a complete-model STEP export, giving the client distinct files to use in their workflow.

Close the milestones

The client approved the first milestone on 19 May and the second on 21 May. The contract was closed later.

The decision I would defend

The documented handoff separates hull geometry from the complete model. It gives the next person in the workflow a choice of scope without requiring them to extract the hull first.

Outcome

The complete-model and hull-only files were delivered and both milestones were approved.

Delivered

  • Complete 36-inch model ZIP
  • Hull-only STEP export
  • Complete-model STEP export

Scope and limits

The Upwork record does not establish the detailed modelling method, tool used, print validation or hydrodynamic performance. This is a concise delivery case rather than an invented step-by-step reconstruction of missing conversations.
